MY SCORPIO

Hope you find this info helpfull.

Tools you might need are

  1. Flat blade screwdriver
  2. Emery Cloth
  3. A soft wire brush
  4. A Clean Cloth

First take all the fuses and relays out of the fuse box. Unclip the plastic clips on the side of the box and the metal clasp.

Once the bottom has been removed you will see the first layer of 11 layers.

Gently remove the first layer to reveal the contacts that belong to that layer.

You'll see that on the underside of the layer, there are like grooves where the contacts go, all the contacts are different so only one will fit in it's groove. When the contacts have been removed clean any soiled or dirty parts with the emery cloth. Give the  nylon layer a brush over with the soft wire brush to get rid of any debris and dirt, then give all the bit's a wipe over with the clean cloth. Now start putting the contacts back in their proper grooves. ( if it doesn't fit it don't belong ). I found it easier to start with the largest contact and work down in size.

When all the contacts are in place, go on to the next layer. Prise the layer off gently. Clean, brush, and wipe the layer clean, then place on top of the first layer. ( When putting the layers together start with the multipin contacts and wiggle the layer in place ). Then start to take out the contacts for  layer 2. Clean, wipe Then put into there grooves.

Once youv'e done 2 or three layers the next 8 or 9 layers will be easier.

Level 1

Before you begin on to the next level, just take a minute to look over the previuos layer, and make sure you've got everything in place and clean.

You don't want to assemble all the levels and find that you have a peice left over .

After all 11 levels have been parted cleaned and reassembled, place back into the fuse box housing gently. use a small screwdriver or a pen knife to ease the fuse holders into there place.

I have to say that i,m no mechanic and my knowledge of car mechanics is about a 1.5 spanner rating. This is just my experience of rebuilding my fuse box.
