MY SCORPIO

Here I'l try and explain how to remove a scorpio fuse box and refit.

Tools: 8mm Socket

I used  a flexi ratchet screwdriver thingy.

Long small flat head screwdriver.

Firstly Disconnect the battery.

Disconnect the mutipin plug from the fuse box

Move the drivers seat back as far as it can go.

Undo the two fittings that hold the footwell light cover, they are the plastic push fittings that are just below the facia where the bonnet release handle is.

It's a bit of a tight squeeze but you'll have to lie on your back in the footwell and look up ( best if you have an inspection lamp or torch ) and you will see another cover that covers the multi pin plugs to the fuse box. There are another two push fittings , if you can't see them put your hand up and feel for them. Pull them out and push the cover to one side. Now you will see a plastic type netting that goes over the multipin plugs. ( now this i found was the hardest part ) On the netting there are four lugs that clip into the fuse box pull the two of the lugs that are on the same side or if you find it easy pull all four out.

Now for removing the multipin plugs.

They all have a small clip that you have to push in towards the plug to release it.

Push the clip in with the screwdriver and gently pull out the plugs. I think it's best to start on the far side nearest the wing and nearest the engine ( or top left hand corner as you're looking at it ) work your way down that column then start on the next column.

Once you have all the plugs out undo the four 8mm nuts that hold the fuse box in place. Best to hold the 8mm socket whilst feeling for the nuts, try and keep the nut in the socket when you undo it so you don't drop it and lose it.

When all four nuts have been removed, gently push the box up just to loosen it.

Go to the fuse box in the engine bay remove the cover and try and gently prise out the fuse box, ( you might have to remove some of the relays first to get the box out ). Refitting as they say is in reverse order. You could use a bit of grease between the fuse box seal and the body, just to make it a bit more waterproof.
